Work/Life: Phil the art guy

This is Phil's great contribution to the Work/Life exhibition. The artwork pivots within the frame and the words "work" and "life" are painted on the sides of the panel.

“I chose to work on our house renovation a while back. It was quite therapeutic. During demolition I could go hammer something and smash another thing—and feel really good about it. A controlled tantrum if you will. I have actually used a lot of the wood from the house in my artwork for the panels and frames. Some pieces of artwork incorporate the paint, plaster and nail holes on them. During the finishing I could pride myself in doing a job well done.” (from Work/Life)
